Position Overview

As a Weekend Transit Operator, you will provide safe, dependable transportation services during high-demand weekend hours. You'll operate company vehicles on scheduled routes while ensuring passengers enjoy a comfortable, reliable, and professional transportation experience.

Key Responsibilities of a Weekend Transit Operator:

Safe Transportation Services

• Operate company vehicles safely and professionally during scheduled weekend service hours.
• Transport passengers efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Prioritize passenger safety at all times.
• Maintain awareness of road, weather, and traffic conditions.

Route Execution & Service Delivery

• Follow established routes and service schedules.
• Maintain consistent and reliable service throughout each shift.
• Adjust to changing traffic patterns and operational needs.
• Coordinate with dispatch regarding route updates or service interruptions.

Vehicle Care & Inspection

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after every shift.
• Report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready vehicle.
• Ensure safety equipment is operational and readily available.

Passenger Experience

• Deliver friendly, courteous, and respectful customer service.
• Assist riders as needed while maintaining professionalism.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to passenger concerns.
• Represent zTrip positively in every interaction.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and transportation regulations.
• Maintain CDL qualifications and required passenger endorsements.
• Practice defensive driving techniques.
• Report incidents, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
• Support a culture focused on safety, accountability, and service excellence.

Qualifications of a Weekend Transit Operator:

Required

• Valid CDL Class B License or higher
• Passenger (P) Endorsement
• Strong driving record
• Ability to work overnight Friday and Saturday shifts
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Preferred

• Experience operating shuttle buses, transit vehicles, motorcoaches, or passenger transportation vehicles
• Background in transportation, hospitality, tourism, or customer service
• Knowledge of vehicle inspections and passenger safety procedures
• Familiarity with local roadways and service areas
